Dozer Day 2023 was another great success!! After navigating some growing pains through a pandemic & scheduling conflicts with other events, we moved Dozer Day officially to the first weekend in May. The weather can be tricky that early in the month, but it definitely can help with dust control at times with the bouts of rain (and even occasionally hail) that come. We greatly appreciate all of the wonderful 2023 sponsors, fabulous volunteers and incredible board members who donated goods, equipment and their time to make this such an amazing event and we are already looking forward to next year. This year there were over 6,000 attendees for this
event and so MANY smiles on the kiddo's faces. Dozer Day continues to grow each year and is fast becoming a anticipated community event. Our volunteer operators get to see close up how much fun the kids have getting on the equipment and "operating" the machinery. We appreciate all of our volunteers, but our operator are really the heroes of the day. We also identified early on that we would grow faster than we could staff volunteers, so Dozer Day has partnered with local school districts to offer grants in exchange for their volunteer service. These grants are a great way to ensure we have an adequate volunteer pool and also support local school programs that are always looking for fundraising opportunities. We have had the pleasure to work with Post Falls Cheer, Post Falls Football and Mead Cheer for the past couple of year and in 2023 we were able to add Rogers Football to the grant program.
We are excited to be able to once again make our main donations from the proceeds to Children's Village in Coeur d'Alene and Communities in Schools in Spokane. Both programs provide support to local children in need, and it is our honor to support them!! If you have not had the opportunity to participate in Dozer Day, you definitely want to put it on your calendar for next year. Dozer Day is an amazing community event that exposes our youth to the construction industry in such a positive light!! Dozer Day 2024 will be held once again the 1st weekend in May which falls on May 4th and 5th, 2024.
