President’s Letter 2023

NUCA of Eastern WA & North ID Members,

As we close out 2023 as a successful year, I would like to say thank you to all members, associates’ members, and chapter leaders. Together we accomplished all that we strived for. This truly highlights our dedication and commitment to building a stronger foundation for growth, collaboration, and excellence within our communities.

As we look ahead at 2024, we have updated our goals to support chapter development, membership opportunity, professional leadership development, industry leading safety training and community support activities. I encourage all members to bring your team to invest in the association and take advantage of the opportunities.

We are committed to offering a variety of professional safety training classes, Trench Safety Standdowns, Safety Fest events with L&I guest speakers, professional development, Advanced Crew Leadership classes and networking events to help members expand their knowledge, acquire new skills and develop best practices as well as sharing information and resources.

We are committed to building professional relationships through networking events.  This year our focus is on attracting 5 new contractors and 5 new associate members. We also want to ensure all members understand and can utilize all NUCA benefits. This year we will Introduce our Regional Vice Chairman to our membership and strengthen our communication with NUCA National representatives and our local members.

We are committed to offer all NUCA members and their family members an opportunity to apply for NUCA Next Generation Scholarships through our application process. We have aspirations to potential expand this program in 2024.

Government Affairs –

We are committed to develop a legislative committee to address current local and state issues. We are looking for members to participate in lobbyist activities with the NUCA of Washington chapter. Sending a committee member to the 2024 Washington Summit to represent our local chapter will be on our agenda.

Membership Committees –

We are committed to ensure all members have an opportunity to be on a committee. Our goals will be to expand the number of associate and contractor members who serve. To accomplish that, we will invite prospective members who haven’t participated in a committee to association events and gather feedback to enhance services and support for all.

Hoping you all had a joyous holiday season and wishing you all a prosperous New Year.

Sincerely,

Rick Oliver, President
