At NUCA, we believe in giving back to the community and supporting causes that make a significant impact. This February and March, we had the pleasure of meeting with representatives from Children’s Village and Communities in Schools, two primary charities that benefit from the proceeds of our annual Dozer Day event. We are thrilled to announce that we were able to donate over $10,000 to these organizations from the 2023 Dozer Day proceeds.
Children’s Village: A Safe Haven for Children and Families
Children’s Village serves as a trauma-responsive safe haven, dedicated to restoring trust and hope for children and families who have experienced abuse, neglect, or are in crisis. Their mission is deeply rooted in creating compassionate communities where every child feels safe, secure, and nurtured in a stable and loving family environment. The funds donated by NUCA will help Children’s Village continue their crucial work, providing much-needed support and resources to those in need.
Communities in Schools: Empowering Students for Success
Communities in Schools is committed to surrounding students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Their mission aligns closely with our values at NUCA, as they work tirelessly to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Our donation will aid in furthering their mission, helping more students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally. This year we were also able to partner closely with Communities in Schools to get some of their students who are approaching graduation to attend Signing Day and receive some valuable assistance in looking towards the future and a possible career in the trades.
Both Children’s Village and Communities in Schools have expressed their deep appreciation for the support provided by NUCA through Dozer Day. This annual event not only raises funds for these vital organizations but also brings the community together for a day of fun, education, and engagement. As Dozer Day continues to grow, we are excited about the prospect of increasing our donations and expanding our impact.
